| Joan Peters was born in Paris where she grew up surrounded by masterpieces at the Louvre, the Musee du Jeu de Paume and the Orangerie. She later lived in Barcelona, Spain, and Geneva, Switzerland before returning to France. Graduating with a Master’s in Law from the Paris Law School, Joan also attended the Ecole du Louvre where she studied Art History. She took art classes at the Boca Museum Art School and Florida Atlantic University, and continued her studies with Mildred Reich, Maris Platais and George Shedd. Currently, she is a member of the ArtCenter Manatee , Artists’ Guild of Manatee, Women Contemporary Artists, National League of American Pen Women and the Sarasota Arts Council. Joan enjoys watercolors, pastels and oils and exploring the various media and techniques available. She takes great pleasure communicating her love of color to her viewers. In 2002, Joan opened the Joan Peters Studio located in the “Village of the Arts” in Bradenton, Florida. Joan Peters Studio is open by appointment only. Call 941-544-5344 |
